NEW Keyways Housing Allocations Scheme Launch 9 September 2026
North Northamptonshire Council is pleased to confirm that the revised Keyways Housing Allocations Scheme will go live on Wednesday 9 September 2026. The new scheme was approved following a comprehensive review of the housing allocations process and is designed to ensure that the limited supply of social housing is prioritised for households with the greatest housing need.
Important Information
To enable the new scheme to be implemented, the Keyways customer portal and back-office system will be temporarily unavailable on Wednesday 9 September 2026. We expect services to be restored the next day (Thursday 10 September 2026) for the new weekly advertising cycle, providing minimal disruption for our customers.
What Does This Mean for Existing Applicants?
As part of the transition to the new scheme, all applications have been reviewed against the revised qualification and banding criteria. Some applicants may no longer qualify to remain on the housing register if they do not have a recognised housing need under the new scheme. If your application is affected, you will receive a letter or email explaining the decision and outlining the housing options available to you. Information will also be provided on how to make further enquiries if your circumstances have changed or you disagree with our decision.
